What is it?
Farmers, food manufacturers and specialty food entrepreneurs in the Headwaters area are some of the most creative business people around. Whether you are just starting a food business or need a network of like minded business people to talk to, you can find that help through the HFFA Food Entrepreneurship Initiative.
How to Help?
Programs offered through the Small Business Centre in Orangeville and the Orangeville Campus of Georgian College are a great resource for budding and seasoned food entrepreneurs. They are also looking for mentors to help business owners understand their production methods or markets.
Have some time to spare? Volunteer for Mentoring. Want to sit on a board? Join the HFFA board and bring your ideas. Want to teach a course for food entrepreneurs? Great! We will find you the class.
Why do it?
A strong food culture in Headwaters has always meant that there are great places to eat. Farmers markets throughout the region provide an opportunity for consumers to meet their farmers and make the choice to purchase locally produced food.
As food businesses grow, they require access to training, networking and additional market opportunities. HFFA can provide those opportunities.
