Community Seminar for Food Entrepreneurs

In February 2105, the Orangeville Campus of Georgian College hosted the Food Entrepreneur seminar in partnership with Orangeville and Area Small Business Enterprise Centre, HFFA, Downtown Orangeville BIA, Headwaters Communities in Action, Dufferin. Biz and local municipalties and economic development partners in Dufferin and Caledon.

The seminar offered tools and resources for agri-food businesses to position themselves to meet consumer demands. One hundred and eighty entrepreneurs and food businesses were in attendance.

Growing the Food System within Headwaters Region -2013

Barriers and challenges faced by those working in the local food system in Headwaters were identified through interviews and focus groups. While the desire to eat locally is highly valued by residents of Headwaters, significant challenges are present in supply, distribution and policy.
